Summertime and the livin's easy

It's July in Maine and it truly is the way life should be. We're always on the go in the summer and this year is no exception, though the past year has been the busiest in awhile. July 30th marks the one year anniversary of wedded bliss to my fantastic hubby, Casey, and in August we will have been in our home for a year. Time really does fly when you're having fun and we're having a blast loving and nurturing our favorite things: Kale, our Boxer puppy, our humble home, our small veggie garden and especially our zeal for road trips and exploring off the beaten path. Welcome to Wanderlust and Love in Maine-enjoy!!

We are so lucky to have an amazing network of friends and family whom we are very close with, care about immensely and love to spend time with. On the flip side of things, when we get away we like to really get away. We love to camp but you'll never find us at a campground with a pool and a store. We love the ocean but you'll rarely find us at a busy state park beach. We love to hike but I'll spend hours researching hidden trails that are rarely walked instead of hitting the trail heads that everyone is familiar with. We have our social life at home and our vacations are our time to just enjoy one another's company. Whether it be a Sunday drive or a week away, we enjoy the simplicity of Maine and the escape from everyday life, cell phones, computers and email.

I have an obsession a healthy interest in planning and taking trips and have found a serious lack of resources on back road trips in our home state. I'm hoping this blog will serve as that resource for some people but also document our trips for all to enjoy! Please feel free to comment with input or questions, I'd love to hear from you! We've already been logging the miles this summer; stay tuned for an update on our recent trips as well as upcoming adventures!
